Stranger and Strangers pt1 pg 22-24 Issue #1

Week 8
Happy Friday all. Just a quick one from me this week as I’m in prep mode for this weekend’s photo-shoot. I told you all about that last week so I won’t go over it again, though I will be posting through the week with updates, teasers and spoilers...so come back early come back often.
Now on with the book where there’s some introductions and big changes for our fellow Sojourners.

Stranger and Strangers pt1 pg 19-21 Issue #1

Week 7
Another sunny Friday, time for some more free comics.
So last week I told you a little about my planned photo-shoot for “The Heart Box” which is happening on the 27th of this month, well the casting is complete for all but one character and everything else is prepped so I’m pretty jazzed about that.
“The Heart Box” is one of several shorts I have planned to bring the SOJOURN story up to date before releasing an all new Graphic. I’ll be introducing new characters and plotlines as well as catching us up on old friends and enemies. Over the years I’ve often thought of returning to this world and ever since the re-launch of the original SOJOURN stories I’ve been spinning out new shorts and plotlines. For me it’s all very exciting and I hope it will be for you too.
Well, that’s enough of a catch up for this week back to the story I think.

Stranger and Strangers pt1 pg 16-18 Issue #1

Week 6
It’s been a pretty good week. The newest Sojourn story “The Heart Box” is pretty much finished and tweaked and it’s looking pretty good if I do say. I’ve planned the first photo shoot, for said story, for the weekend after this and that’s falling into place nicely too. I’m casting for the five leaded characters, with most of those (tentatively) cast. Because of my lack of space my ever-lovin’ cousin Kerry and her house mate Marie are letting me shoot at theirs. Steve is going to be my second shooter on this getting pick-ups and background shots and the lovely April is penciled in to take care of the costuming for me. I’m even in talks with a make-up artist to help make all the girls look pretty (not that any of them need the help really). I’ll be picking up the new back drop this Sunday, got my new lights and I’ve made, bought or acquired most of the props (few as they are).  So all and all a good week.
I’ll keep you updated as to progress and I should have some “behind the scenes” stuff for you soon.

But for now, it’s Friday so it must be time for some more free comics. A little “Weird Science” to kick off the weekend.

Stranger and Strangers pt1 pg 13-15 Issue #1

Week 5
Wow, five weeks already? Time does fly.

Just a quick one from me this week as this post is running several hours late. There are two reasons for this. The first is I haven’t been near my computer today, life having taken me out into the big wide world which was mostly uncomfortable and cold but did have some perks. The second is that there was a problem with the blog it’s self. Apparently it wasn’t loading right out there so most of the pages were not loading. Now my tec. skills are almost non-existent but I think everything’s up and running again now.

So here we go with “Friday night fights” and C.T. acquires a Conscience...Welcome back to SOJOURN.

Stranger and Strangers pt1 pg 10-12 Issue #1

It’s Friday so time for another dip into SOJOURN.

Last week C.T. was off to the pub, this week it’s the doctor he’s going to see. There may be a correlation.

Not a lot of news for you from my end. The scribbling and ponderings on the new story continues but unfortunately so does the insomnia. Problem with insomnia is that it’s so unproductive. Sure you’re awake all the time but you’re not really there so getting anything done, especially creatively, is very difficult. So I have a stack of notes from the week to go through and try to make sense of.  So while, for most Friday marks the beginning of the weekend for me I’m looking at a couple days organizing notes and sitting at the computer. Don’t get me wrong, I love writing, it’s the organizational bit’s that can drag.

Well that’s enough of me. As always enjoy this weeks pages then press the buttons and tell friends ect.

Stranger and Strangers pt1 pg 7-9 Issue #1

Happy Friday, time for a little more Sojourn.

This week was Angel Poisson’s birthday (those who know the book or read the credits know Angel was the Colourist on the book) and a bunch of us got together to celebrate with her including most of the original Sojourn team members. A good time was had by all and I know we all wish her all the best.

The new story is coming along nicely and I’ll be casting for some new characters in the up-coming weeks. Watch this space for updates as they happen.

But for now on with the original story. We’re getting into it now as we start to really get into C.T.’s life.

As it’s Friday, shall we go to the pub?

Stranger and Strangers pt1 pg 4-6 Issue #1

Another week, more SOJOURN.

Last week got some good starting numbers, so thanks to everyone who checked it out, hope you’re here this week.

Now something For the Brits about this week’s instalment as well as the continuing series: Please read carefully.
When I originally wrote SOJOURN I had been to the UK on vacation once when I was 15, my knowledge of the UK...and especially accents... was really limited to what I saw on TV. My mom being a Brit there was a lot of BBC on while I was growing up. So clearly this was my guide-line. Since then I’ve lived in London, and traveled England, Wales, and Scotland a fair deal for the last 10ish years. So believe me when I apologize for reducing the Brit accent to removing the H’s. It is accurate (not one person I know in the UK can say HMV) but not ALL THE TIME. Put it down to youth and inexperience and accept the honest apology for what it is. The new stories will be more informed, I promise.  (On a side note; It is amazing how much the accent changes in the UK. Hell from one part of London to another there is a completely different dialect, forget different parts of the UK. Coming from such a vast country as my own I find it amazing. Accents between, say, Ottawa and Winnipeg aren’t all that different and that’s a greater distance than the whole UK tip to tip.)

On another note, last week I forgot to mention some friends who have helped out greatly with getting this blog...well, sort-of, together.
Firstly there’s Tim who’s been pushing me to do something with SOJOURN for years. It was Tim who was really the driving force behind me getting this site up so big thanks to him.
Then there’s Chuck and April who came through in a pinch to help out on the tech side to make sure I got this up for the first Friday of the year. Without these two I probably would have been delayed...let’s say quite a while.
Chuck got some bad news this week so let’s send him some good vibes to get him through it.
There are more of you on the list and I promise to get to you as the weeks and months go on.

Lastly you might note the link to Big D’s NERDGASM LIVES! I can highly recommend this as a wonderful spot to re-live some of your favourite geek memories or as just a great place to have a giggle and unwind. As a veteran of Dave’s monthly Nerdgasm quiz in London I can tell you he is nothing if not entertaining.

And now, to continue...
